In 2013-2014 there was a huge irruption (sporadic mass movement to an unexpected area) of Snowy Owls, which was originally tracked by eBird. As a result of this irruption, Project SNOWstorm was formed. Project SNOWstorm is dedicated to learning more about Snowy Owls by tracking their location and flight habits.
